Proverbs 16:3
Commit thy works unto the Lord, and they thoughts shall be established!
The Greek word genesis can mean “birth,” “genealogy,” “history of origin,” or “source.”
Genesis
- Is the foundational book to the rest of the Bible
- It covers more time than any other book in the Bible
Genesis Chapter One
V1: God created the heaven and the the earth. This refutes atheism, the big bang theory, evolution, pantheism ( someone who believes that God and the universe are the same) and polytheism ( Polytheism is the belief in and/or worship of multiple deities, called gods and/or goddesses).
V2: And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters

In John 1:3 it says that ALL (this also means me and you) things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
V6: Let there firmament in the midst of the waters and let it divide the waters from the waters.
- Firmament “expanse between the water vapor form over the earth. Waters upon the earth supernaturally elevated above the atmosphere creating a greenhouse effect. This caused a tropical climate throughout the earth until the great flood came.
V26: Let us make man in our image after our likeness
- Likeness and image refer to man’s spiritual resemblance
- Image representation or replica of one person by another image may be similar but not identical to the original
- When man fell he retained an impaired image of God.
- Regaining likeness of God is one of the accomplishments of SALVATION!
- Our spiritual likeness is restored in justification
- Character likeness being continuously developed in process of SANTIFICATION
We have the promise that we will be Christ like when we are glorified!
V29: Have given you every herb bearing seed, Every tree in which is fruit of a tree yielding seed to you it shall be for meat.
- No actual animal flesh was condoned until after the Flood
Man’s body was created from dust and only became a living soul after Gof breathed the breath of life into his nostrils.
Adam had 6 obligations unto the lord
- Replenish earth with children
- Use nature for physical needs
- Have dominion over animal life
- Eat fruits and vegetables
- Labor for his sustenance
- Obey God by abstaining from eating the forbidden fruit
